A Simple Receiving Meditation - 10 steps

Take a slow inhale and exhale.

Root Chakra
Bring your awareness to your root chakra at the base of your spine. Notice any holding in your pelvic floor, glutes, or lower body. Gently soften and release on your exhale.

Sacral Chakra
Now shift your focus to your sacral chakra, just below your belly button — your centre of pleasure, creativity, and flow. Allow any tension here to melt away as you exhale.

Solar Plexus
Move your attention up to your solar plexus — your fire centre, home of courage, confidence, and passion. If you've been holding too tightly, you may feel burnt out or anxious. Let some of that go with your breath.

Heart Chakra
Now bring your awareness to your heart space. Allow yourself to be open to love and to receive without needing to return anything immediately. Trust that what you give will naturally come back around. Breathe in love and support. Exhale any guilt, pressure, or sense of obligation.

Throat Chakra
Move up to your throat chakra. This is where we sometimes bite our tongue, struggle to express ourselves, or reject compliments. Take a gentle yawn, swallow, and relax the muscles around your jaw and throat.

Third Eye
Bring your awareness to your third eye. See yourself surrounded by a beautiful white light of protection and support. Exhale anything that prevents you from receiving that light fully.

Full release
Finally, on your next inhale, gently lift your pelvic floor and imagine the energy rising all the way to the centre of your head. Release completely on your exhale.

Repeat
Repeat this a few times, especially before sleep.
This week, be kinder to yourself and allow yourself to fully receive the gifts you're already blessed with: breath, laughter, hugs, movement, rest, nature, and sleep.
